Procedures & services agreement

Both parents need to be familiar with this before contact begins. It covers intake sessions, handovers, fees, cancellations and what we ask of you.

How supervised time works

Intake session

Before supervised time begins, the supervisor meets the child and the parent they live with. The session lasts up to thirty minutes, at the supervisor's discretion.

The purpose is simply for the child to become familiar with the supervisor before being left with them. It's also the moment to pass on anything we should know about your child's care — food allergies, toileting, routines, comfort items.

During supervised time

Every visit follows recognised children's contact service guidelines. The supervisor's role is to facilitate and observe without prejudice, and they will only step in if a child's safety or welfare is at risk.

We're an outreach service, so the venue depends on the children's ages and anything set out in court orders — indoor play centres, soft play, bowling and similar age-appropriate places close to where the children live. Time can be spent at the supervised parent's home where this is court ordered or both parents agree.

Pick-up and drop-off

We know changeover can be the tensest part of the week. It is in your child's interest to keep that moment calm, so we stagger drop-off and pick-up times — parents never need to run into one another.

Common questions

How soon can visits start?

Usually within two to three weeks of both parents returning their application forms and the intake session taking place.

Do both parents have to apply?

Yes. Each parent completes their own form so we hear directly from both of you before any arrangement is agreed.

Will I get a written report?

Observational reports are available on request, and are written by the supervisor who was present at the visit.

What if we need to cancel?

Let us know as early as you can. Cancellation terms are set out in full in the procedures and services agreement.
